Considering Adoption?
Adoption is a thoughtful choice for women who are not ready to parent but want their child to have a stable, loving future. If you’re experiencing an unexpected pregnancy, you may have questions about what adoption looks like and whether it’s an option for you.
At Women’s Clinics, our caring staff will walk with you through each step of understanding adoption. We offer no-cost, confidential consultations to help you explore this option and determine how it may fit your goals, however, the Women’s Clinics do not facilitate adoptions.
What Adoption Looks Like Today
Modern adoption puts you, the expectant mother, in the driver’s seat. You choose the plan, the level of contact, and the family who will raise your child.
The three most common adoption plans include:
Open Adoption
You know the adoptive family, share identifying information, and may have ongoing contact through calls, messages, photos, or in-person visits.
Semi-Open Adoption
Communication takes place through an agency. This allows for updates and some connection while protecting your privacy.
Closed Adoption
Your identity is kept private. No direct contact occurs, and identifying information remains sealed.
You choose the type of adoption that aligns with your needs, comfort level, and long-term goals.
Practical & Emotional Support
Adoption can bring peace and stability, but it can also feel emotionally complex. We’re here to help you process your feelings and understand every part of the adoption journey.
Women’s Clinics offers referrals to licensed adoption agencies that will walk you through each step of the process. Through these agencies, you can connect with counseling and emotional support, housing resources, and more.
Many adoptive families help cover pregnancy-related expenses, such as transportation and maternity clothing. You’ll never pay for adoption or legal services, and your medical bills will be covered if they’re not covered by insurance.
If you’re considering this option, be aware that exploring it doesn’t mean you’re committing to it. Only you can make this decision; we’ll point you toward resources that will answer your questions and help you determine if this is the best option for you and your child.
You’re Not Alone
Adoption is not about “giving up.” It’s about giving your child a secure future while honoring your own needs and goals. Whether you’re just exploring or ready to begin the process, we’re here to help.
